Session 6: Columns Example 3 |
In this example, we have a two-column matching exercise. In the braille example, the transcriber uses a series of dot 2-3-5-6's to represent part of the box, and dots 1-2-3-4-5-6 to represent a side of the box (more on boxes in Session 9!). Since, in this case, there is room on the page to get two columns to fit, the transcriber has chosen to do so, with a full row of full cells to present the start of the third and fourth columns.
The Transcriber's Note (TN) is inserted before the boxed columns, explaining to the reader the format of the print.
Chemical Terms
Make sure you know some of the basic terminology of chemistry by matching up the word with its most appropriate definition. Each word in Column 1 has a definition in Column 2.
