  • Session 6: List example 2

In this example, we have a series of three listed items (the definitions) with an embedded list under the third definition. The main items (in this case, the definitions) begin in Cell 1, and the subitems (the directions for calculating) begin in Cell 3. Runovers for each of the list items goes four (4) cells in. The text reads:
    • A mole is amount of substance that contains as many elementary entities (atoms, molecules, or other particles) as there are atoms in a carbon atom.
    • A gram is a unit of measure, and contains different number of moles depending on what the element is.
    • A gram molecular weight is the same as the mole, and varies depending on the element. To calculate the gram molecular weight, you:
    • determine the number of atoms of different elements in the molecule.
      • from the periodic table, determine the gram atomic weight of each element
      • multiply the gram atomic weight by the number of atoms of that element
      • add up the weights of all of the atoms
